The week is finally over!! I had to cancel my previous plans to adventure in Utah because I am having a few issues at the office that required me to stay nearby. But being that it's my aunt's birthday month and we always go camping together in January I felt the need to at the very least take her our for a weekend.

She has never been to Alabama Hills before but it is one of my favorite places to be. It's close to home, very peaceful and Groot has a blast climbing up the boulders every time we come. So Friday night after work I picked her up and set off to our adventure!

We made a pit stop in Palmdale for a quick bite to eat at Fatboys Tacos and let me just say... that food is bomb! It will now be my official stop every time I go up that way!!

Arriving to our destination around midnight we peeked out the windows of Roxy and actually see stars and an almost full moon. It was so serene and put me into a state of joy instantaneously. This is where I belong. This is where I need to be.

We finally fell asleep around 2 AM waking up the next morning at sunrise. It was a beautiful and spectacular site to see! This is why I absolutely LOVE being out in the middle of no where. This is where I am able to just sit and meditate properly. Get to know myself a little better, reflect on what I desire and my overall inner happiness. Although, I am able to do this much better when I'm alone but having such a wonderful human companion for the weekend made this particular weekend more of a bonding experience than anything else.

We spent the day climbing boulders and running around like children exploring the rocks and mini caves. We were lucky enough to find a really awesome camp spot for the rest of the weekend.

We did not do any strenuous hikes buy we did have a great time! If you have not been to Alabama Hills before it is recommended.

However, just know this is BLM land and facilities are limited to a few porta potty's so make sure you pack out ALL of your trash! Do not contribute to the waste and poo holes barely covered with rocks. Keep our lands clean and enjoyable for all.
